If you continue to have issues with the DFI, please check the lenses. If your DFI continues to blink at the end of the cleaning cycle, then turn off the unit, unplug the power cable for 10 seconds, and then plug it back in. Press ‘Reset’ and then start a cleaning cycle.Replace with an empty bag and ensure that the bag is not above the rim of the drawer. Proceed with the following troubleshooting tips:Įmpty the Drawer & Replace the Bag The bag may be blocking the DFI field. If the Waste Drawer is not full, consider that something might be blocking the DFI. If it is full, empty it and press the ‘Reset’ button. At this point, we recommend you check your Waste Drawer. If the Blue LED is flashing, this means that the Drawer Full Indicator (DFI) has sensed a potential block. Plug the unit back in and initiate a cleaning cycle.6.Once the cleaning cycle is complete, the unit should be at the Home position with a Solid BlueLED on. Do not spray anything directly onto the Base or DFILenses.5. We recommend wipingthem off with paper towel and glass cleaner. Inside the waste opening, on the left and right sides, there are two clear “Lenses”.Make sure there is no debris stuck to these Lenses, or blocking them. Are there any debris? Small amounts of litteris normal.4. Inspect the exterior, top, portion of the Base where the Globe usually rests. Remove the Globe and set it aside, be careful not to let it roll.3. If the Blue LED is flashing, this means that the Drawer Full Indicator (DFI) has sensed apotential block. I also removed the bonnet and globe and used my phone to photograph the clear plastic windows on either side of the opening to the drawer, to make sure they were clear of debris (I’m assuming that that’s where the drawer full sensors are) but after reassembling it, the blue light still flashes.Īny other suggestions for how to fix this? Or should I just send it back as defective? I’ve tried it without the bag, in case it was somehow causing false detections, but that didn’t help. The manual says that the flashing blue light is the drawer full indicator, and the work-for-a-while-then-stop behavior is consistent with what the manual says the LRII should do when the drawer fills, but we have this problem even when the drawer is empty. We can restart it, and it will work for a while, but then it stops and we have to restart it. For a while now, the blue light has been flashing continuously and the robot has stopped cycling. The first one works great, but I’m having trouble with this one. However, not all issues are covered in the official guide.I just bought my second Litter Robot II about a month ago. The LEDs show the status of the robot and help a user troubleshoot issues. There are also four buttons which are "power", "cycle", "empty" and "reset". Aside from the main power light, there are three lights on the Litter Robot 3 control panel, which are blue (ready button), yellow (cycling button) and red (timing button). The Litter Robot 3 control panel provides the main user input /(buttons) and output (LEDs) for the robot. Customers often search online for a solution before contacting technical support, so this guide is intended to cover the most common situations. There's a lot of dust and debris which can cause issues, which leads to the robot not operating correctly. It is subjected to conditions which most robots - if they had a choice, would prefer not to be subjected to. The Litter Robot 3 is an incredibly popular automatic cat litter box which automatically detects when a cat has entered and exited, and rotates the main globe to sift and dump the used litter.
