![]() ![]() I mainly wanted to be able to edit and organise my 39,000 images on both of the computers. I am much less concerned about the phone because I don't like working on a small screen. That's an iMac running Catalina, a MacBook Pro running High Sierra and an iPhone SE. ICloud Photos is a huge disappointment to me – is it worth continuing? Last November I decided to start paying for 200Gb of storage in iCloud Photos. ![]() Has anyone got any suggestions on what I should do, what I may encounter, am I being overly critical/worrysome? How should I backup or any software that would make it easier? I appreciate any input. I don't know how to backup my icloud photos without plugging my phone into my mac and it syncing with the photos album. I know how to keep a backup of my Mac Photos album, it's simply create a backup of the massive album file. ![]() There is about 7000 picture overlap from 2016 to 2019 thats currently on both my mac Photos and my iCloud photos. I'm worried if i simply tick the Mac Photos "iCloud Photos" button I will end up with photo duplication, filename duplication, or something going horribly wrong. Now all my photos are in the correct date order and have good metadata. Whilst putting all these pictures into Photos it was a bit of a hassle due to the old duplicate/shared file names between devices, poor metadata etc. I've had an iPhone since day 1, and the Mac Photos album is a collection of all the iPhone pictures going back through those years and the years previously on other devices. I have the larger icloud subscription so have room for them all, it would be nice to be able to keep all my pictures/videos in one place. I have on my icloud 13GB of pictures/videos in Photos. I have on my mac 54GB of pictures and videos in Photos. ![]()
